This year Digital Office Group would like the opportunity to work with fellow Leicestershire based businesses, with a focus on giving something back to the community this Christmas. This year we have chosen the unique ‘Making Christmas Special’ campaign, which sees Leicester’s Hospitals, Age UK Leicestershire & Rutland and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) joining forces to spread a little cheer to older patients too ill to leave hospital to be at home with their families. Now in its fifth year, the campaign encourages the public to donate a small gift for hospital staff and volunteers to distribute to patients on Christmas Day.

Christmas 2017, local people showed their amazing generosity by donating over 1,300 gifts. The campaign was so successful that donated gifts exceeded the need in Leicester’s Hospitals and could be shared with some community hospitals. This year, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust has joined the campaign, through which we aim to send gifts to all community hospitals and ensure that every older patient receives a gift.

Julie Smith, Chief Nurse for Leicester’s Hospitals, said: “Receiving a small gift on Christmas Day really means a lot to our patients.  It is great to see their smiles when our nurses hand out the presents and we would be delighted if the local community could help us to ‘Make Christmas Special’ again this year for our older patients who are too unwell to be at home with loved ones.”

If you would like to be a part of such a worthy cause, we are asking that gift bags or boxes are delivered to us at Digital Office Group (Granite House, Ivanhoe Business Park, Ashby-de-la-Zouch) From November 12th up until December 10th 2018.

So how can you donate?

It’s really simple!

1.  Visit the website of Leicester’s Hospitals (www.leicesterhospitals.nhs.uk), Age UK (www.ageukleics.org.uk) or LPT (www.leicspart.nhs.uk) to download and print a gift tag

2.  Write your message on the gift tag and tick whether the gift is for a man or woman

3.  Attach the tag to a small gift bag containing gifts such as lip balm, hand lotion, slipper socks, bed socks, biscuits, sweets, cereal bars, hot chocolate or coffee sachets, pens, pencils, and puzzle books. The websites have a full list of what could be donated and what we cannot accept.

4. Deliver all donations to Digital Office Group @ Granite House between November 12th and December 10th 2018, ready to be distributed to Age UK Leicestershire & Rutland’s Head Office.

It would be great to have your support for such a fantastic charity campaign.
